In the following I will instead give some absolutely remarkable facts about the Canon 5d MK2. In particular its zoom capabilities and the expanded ISO range make the MK2 stand out of the crowd.

The 21.1 MPixel CMOS Sensor

According to both the manufacturer and customer reviews, the major advantage of such large megapixel sensor, is the potential to actually (physically) print very large scale of the digital pictures. At 21.1 MegaPixel, you could virtually print banners, for example by physically merging several letter- or legal size sheets, or in case you have a wide- format printer. All in all, the 21.1. MPs are substantially more than most of the MK2′s competitors, for example, the Canon Eos ti1 – Rebel Ti1 with its 15.1 Megapixel CMOS sensor.

The expanded 100 to 6400 (truly 50 to 25600) ISO range

The original Canon 5D did set a new standard in terms of its ISO settings; yet, the canon 5d mk11 now goes even further in its ISO capabilities. By virtue of manual settings in the Canon d5 mark 2 menu, you can set ISO range from as low as 50 all the way up to 25600, which is one of the widest ISO ranges I was able to find during my own research.

A broad range of ISO capability allows for an incredible array of creativity when taking picture. For example, one can take pictures at ultra-low-light situations with a wide – ISO setting of 6400 on auto or 25600 on manual setting, and – provided appropriate lighting conditions – use the landscape mode at ISO settings of 50.

The full High Definition (HD) 1920 x 1080 video capabilities

Apart from the outstanding quality provided by the HD 1920×1080 mode, one very useful feature of the Canon d5 Mark 2 is the video started from Life view Mode. What I found during my research is that apparently, these specs allow for ongoing video capture while taking single or even continuous still pictures.

Some other nice-to-have features of the Canon 5d mk2 include the almost silent shoot-feature, by locking the shutter during shooting (while typically SLR cameras would shut/open the shutters during shooting), as well as the improved LCD monitor and the self-cleaning sensor removing dust from the sensor.
