Overall,  looking at the complete line of  the Canon digital camera products, the Canon EOS ti1 / the Canon Rebel ti1  is definitely amongst the best on the market these days.

Japanese – based Canon has established itself as a renowned manufacturer of digital cameras and in general digital imaging, printing and e.g. scanning.

As for SLR digital cameras, Canon had been manufacturing those since the early 1930’s, with the EOS – series starting out as single-lens reflex digital cameras in the late 1980’s.

The EOS series has already established itself as an extremely high-quality product with by-and-large affordable pricing. While all of the Canon – EOS series SLR cameras have been very successful, the ti1 Canon is maybe the most successful and also (or because of) the very best Canon SLR camera on the market.

The Top Features of the Canon EOS ti1 – How is “The Rebel” different?

The EOS ti1 has some distinct advantages over some of its direct competitors; after researching the camera in detail, I deem the following to be some of the top features of the Canon Rebel Ti1 SLR.

-    New 15.1-Megapixel CMOS sensor (as compared to e.g. the 12.1 mp of the Nikon Coolpix p500)
-    DIGIC 4 Image Processor
-    3.0 inches “Distinct View LCD” with anti-reflective and scratch resistant coating
-    Canon EF S 18 – 55mm f /3.5 – 5.6 IS lens
-    Full HD-video capability at 1920 x 1080 resolution;
-    HDMI output
-    Live-View Function (Quick, Live and Face-Detection AF modes)

The EF-S 18-55mm lense produces outstanding results – however, it is to mention that the ti1 Canon is also fully compatible with the other ti1 canon range of lenses.

What I personally liked maybe the most about the EOS Ti1 was the high-resolution / full functional video capability together with the HDMI port (see below), that allows for watching any quick video-shot almost instantaneously in high def on even larger TV-screens. While more and more SLRs on the market today implement this functionality, I really felt during my test of the EOS Rebel ti, that Canon did a nice job in making the video function really “user friendly”.

On a non-technical side, I also liked the actual “look” and “feel” of the Rebel T1I; it is easy to grab it and hold on to it, even when it gets a little bit more hectic while shooting images. Hence, the body of the camera not only looks nice and compact for a high-quality SLR camera, it also has the right “feel” to it.

Buying the Canon EOS Rebel ti

As I mentioned before, a nice feature is the HDMI port which allows for easy, “plug-and-play like” connection to High Definition TVs; according to the manufacturer, that allows for true instant viewing of both pictures as well as videos stored on the ti1 Canon / Canon EOS Rebel ti.
